PROGRAM ENROLLMENT

The number of students indicated in this report reflect a duplicated headcount, meaning that if a student un-enrolls and re-enrolls during the same school year, they are counted twice. We represent the data this way because it more accurately represents the staff time, funding and resources required to run our programs.

SPECIAL EDUCATION SPOTLIGHT

Pankalo students featured in art exhibition

Students from Pankalo Education Center, Northeast Metro 916's newest special education learning facility, joined high school students from FAIR School Downtown and Venture Academy in January for a unique, culturally-inspired art show.

“PROCESS”, a show title that was conceptualized by the students, represents the idea of materializing a thought or an idea into the physical world through the creative process. Students were tasked with creating original works of art on skateboards, which were featured in an exhibition that brings youth culture, fine art, skateboarding, and self expression to a gallery setting on Jan. 18 in Minneapolis.

"Every child deserves the chance to be involved in something they will be proud of, and every parent deserves to see their child given opportunities that allow them to succeed,” said Mark Rivard, the artist in residence who helped organize the event.
